We envision Nepal to harness its utmost potentials in producing sustainable, renewable and green energy and bring about an end in indiscriminate deforestation and an eventual end in use of fossil fuels. We envision Nepal to be ecologically an oasis in the region with judicious initiative of reforestation in its existing forest cover and fresh initiatives of afforestation in the entire wastelands. We envision bringing an end to the unfortunate loss of lives and the all-pervasive catastrophe caused by avoidable carbon emissions hitherto.Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) need to be respected and practiced in the fullest measure for the comprehensive good of Nepal as it touches human lives here in many manifestations. As one of the most seismic-prone nations, Nepal needs to work on all ecologically healthy measures aggressively that should ensure an environmental equilibrium and should insulate it from the vulnerabilities of climate change. We cannot afford yet another earthquake of the intensity we last had 4 years ago. Whatever is in our hands, must be done.
We pledge to work with a sense of zero-tolerance in accomplishing the sacred vision of bringing an end to the menace of deforestation and use of carbon emitting fossil fuels which take the toll of innumerable lives. To begin with, we have taken up one of the two most impacted arenas from the aforesaid use (as that of the cooking energy portfolio) now and shall follow on the second (the transport arena) when we are able to augment capacities on the larger scale. We are all set to revolutionize production of sustainable, renewable, green and clean energy at the household level itself offering a bounty of universal benefits in the economic, environmental and social arenas to all – the households, the society, the ecosystem and the nation. We are working towards not only addressing the aforesaid menaces, but are as much focused on nurturing livelihoods, creating jobs, harnessing abundant local resources towards producing much-needed clean energy, managing organic waste and converting it into value, accruing carbon credits for the nation and standing tall among nations in the region for its upcoming contribution in steering the environmental poise.
